Chelsea wonderkid Billy Gilmour eyes loan transfer next season

Billy Gilmour is reportedly looking for a new club after not being given ample opportunity for Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel. The Scottish starlet has only featured in five games.

Lack of game time was unlikely to get the 19-year-old a place in Scotland’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2020, but fortunate for Gilmour, he got a way in.

The 19-year-old Scot is one of the most highly-rated football sensations in the Premier League, but he hasn’t been able to show his skills on the pitch with a star-studded Blues’ squad. The teenager honed his abilities at Chelsea’s academy in recent years, but a criticla knee injury dented his 2020 campaign where he was sidelined for over five months until November.

He can write a similar storyline as Mason Mount, who spent a couple of season away from the Stamford Bridge, to make a name for himself. He played for Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem and then with Derby County in the Championship.

On his Chelsea return, the 22-year-old anchored the Blues to their second Champions League title by beating Manchester City in the final.

Gilmour has a great opportunity infront of him at the Euros to lure in big clubs to sign him and consequently, enjoy more match time at the next destination.
